Why offer blueberries to your baby?

Blueberries are a super food and are among the most nutrient dense berries out there. They are jam packed full of things your baby needs to grow and develop into a healthy child and adult. Blueberries contain:

  • Fiber: to help digestion
  • Vitamin C: helps to support baby’s immune system
  • Vitamin K: helps build healthy bones
  • Manganese: critical for brain development

How do you serve this blueberry porridge for babies?

Make sure this blueberry porridge for babies is fully cooled before serving to your baby. If you are following the traditional weaning path you can spoon feed this soup to your baby. If you are doing baby led weaning, you can offer pre-loaded spoons.

If your baby is a little older, try them with their own cutlery and see how they get on – porridge is always a messy business though – be warned!

What cutlery does Felix use to eat this porridge?

We have used a huge range of baby led weaning spoons over the years, but only a few have stood the test of time.

We were sent some Doddl cutlery to review back when Dexter was a tiny baby and we still use this cutlery to this day with Felix.

The cutlery has an ergonomic design making it easy for your baby to use. Buy your own Doddl cutlery here*

Can adults enjoy this blueberry porridge recipe too?

Absolutely! I ate a bowl of this porridge whilst Felix was eating his.

The most important part of baby led weaning is sitting and eating with your little one so that they can see how exactly eating a meal works. That’s why I like to create recipes that’ll not just feed your baby – but feed you too!

Can you make blueberry overnight oats?

Absolutely! Simply add oats, your milk of choice and squished blueberries to your container and let sit in the fridge overnight.

Overnight oats can either be eaten cold the next morning, or warmed up in the microwave!
