This recipe came to me one morning when I was thinking of what to do with a very ripe and lonely old banana in my fruit bowl. Since publishing this baby led weaning peanut butter cookies recipe, it has become one of my most popular blog posts – Mums just love the super simple healthy cookies for babies!

How many calories are in these baby led weaning cookies?
These baby led weaning peanut butter oat cookies are delicious, soft, and healthy. I didnโt add any sugar to sweeten them and they definitely donโt need it. They come in at 73-76 calories per cookie, so theyโre also a great addition to a lunchbox as a healthy snack. To store cookies, ensure they are completely cooled before placing them in an airtight container; this helps maintain their freshness. This recipe makes nine cookies, but you can just double the quantities to make more

Can you change the ingredients in this cookie recipe?
If you want a sweeter cookie, you can add chocolate chips, blueberries or crushed raspberries to give them an extra kick.
If your baby has an egg allergy you can replace the gg with a flax egg. I haven’t tried this myself (1tbsp flaxmeal + 2.5 tbsp water) for this particular recipe, so do let me know in the comments if it works for you.
Can you freeze these peanut butter cookies for babies?
I have to say I have not attempted it – they are usually all eaten up before I’ve had the opportunity to try! So do let me know in the comments if freezing works for these cookies…and if you do try to freeze them, be sure to let them fully defrost before offering them to your baby.

What do my family think of these baby led weaning peanut butter cookies?
The first time I made these BLW cookies, I let my husband try them before offering to them to Dex. Let’s just say Dex was lucky there were any left for him to have for breakfast!
These cookies are soft on the inside and are extremely moreish!

Never mind the babies I like the sound of these for myself. I am rubbish at eating breakfast and these would be perfect.
Yes they are delicious. My husband ate most of them this morning so i’ll have to whip up another batch for Dex to store in the freezer ๐
Good idea – we’re always left with scabby bananas, just made some banana bread with ours but these cookies would have been perfect! Ahh well, I’ll do them with next weeks leftover banana!
I’d probably eat these myself too! Great recipe ๐ ox
Ooh these sound perfect for my two – although I think we’ll struggle to have any left over bananas haha. Will definitely give them a go ๐ x
These look delicious, not a huge fan of peanut butter but combined in this recipe sounds lovely. Will have to try with my pudding x
these look scrumptious, so much so I think would even eat myself! Great for breakfast

Oh they look nice. You’re making me hungry. Must give them a try.
oh my goodness these look delicious! I’m also looking for new foods to give logan too so we definitely have to try these, last time I gave him a little egg, he had a very slight reaction so should be safe to introduce it soon. These also look so easy, I’m pretty crap in the kitchen but I’d definitely make these! ๐ xx
Wow so easy but look like something my little one would really love too!!

They are great. I added some sultans to them so they are more sweet. I love them, and baby eats them ๐
I just made these with my toddler. They a yummy, thank you for sharing ๐
these were delicious. I also added in some baby cereal for extra iron and nutrition.
I baked these with my 20 month-old granddaughter. She loved stirring it all together and helping to put the cookies on the pan. Sometimes I whip up a batch before I go visit her. Grandma gets to give her a worry free treat and the leftovers make her snack for the rest of the week, which is a help to my daughter. A big win for everyone.
Thank you for your great blog. It was very useful. I am just so glad I came across this.
Nice post!
I made these, they’re great! I used chia seed instead of egg (1 tbsp chia seed with 3 tbsp water, mixed and left for 5 minutes to form a gel) and this worked well. I also made them small (my 10-month-old never eats very much) so each cookie was about a teaspoonful of mixture. I got 21 cookies out of this mix, and baked them for only 9 minutes.
@Gabrielle, thank you I was hoping someone had tried with an egg alternative!

I made these, and my baby LOVED them. Just curious how to store them. In the fridge or can they be left out? I assume the egg ingredient means they should be stored in the driveโฆ?
Thank you for this simple, delicious recipe! It is a hit with my one year old, he is gobbling them up with zero hesitation. I’ve also enjoyed 1 or 2 (or 3, haha) myself!
Thanks!

Just wanted to say that these are my daughter’s FAVORITE cookies. I’ve been making them since 8 months (she’s 15 months now) and she always gobbles them up. They freeze great and she loves them with raspberries and blueberries on top.
Hi Linda, thanks so much for your kind comment. So glad to hear your daughter loves them ๐
Hi i just made these with some sheep cookie cutters, Turned out good but i think i made them too tick ?! Also the recepie only gave me 4 cookies ?!! Also made one bash without the egg and just added abit more flour and some shredded coconut and they just as good as with egg !
I left them for a lot longer more like 15min specially the egg free ones took abit more time to cook
So overall they are amazing!! Will make them again just wanna know how thick i should be making them
Can I store these at room temperature? I would like to send them with my daughter to school
Hi
Turned out great thanks. But how long can they be kept for in an air tight container ?
Baked these today for my 8 month old little boy and he absolutely loves them! Such a quick simple recipe โค๏ธ๐
Approved by my 9 month old! I did them with almond butter though. Next time I’ll make them with peanut butter (she loves both). Easy to quickly toss together. Thank you!
