Baby Led Weaning Recipe: Sweet Potato Waffles
Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day when it comes to baby led weaning. For me, it’s the easiest and most relaxed meal and I love how many different varieties of foods you can offer. As much as I love the ease of toast or buttered crumpets, there’s something a bit more exciting about offering pancakes or waffles and I’ve found it easier this time around to batch cook them both. These sweet potato waffles for babies are a fantastic finger food for your weaning baby, incorporating veggies to give a nutritional boost and perfect for freezing for future breakfasts.
Eggy Bread for Babies
Eggy bread or baby French toast is such a simple way to offer something a little bit different for breakfast. Using only a few ingredients, this eggy bread for babies is ready in less than 10 minutes and is an excellent way to offer eggs to your baby.

Baby Led Weaning Banana and Spinach Pancakes
Considering how many pancake recipes there are on this blog, have you guessed that pancakes are one of my favourite baby led weaning foods?! We started Dexter with banana pancakes many years ago and Felix is just a big a fan of this simple breakfast food. Of course, I love to mix it up a little, so using my basic baby led weaning spinach pancake recipe, I created these banana and spinach pancakes which are perfect for babies.
Baby Led Weaning Hash Brown Potato Cakes
We are just back from a two week break in Spain and the difference in Felix from when to left to when we got back is incredible. He started leap six while we are away and we’ve noticed that as well as gaining a lot of hair on his head, he’s becoming much more adept at getting food in his mouth. The mess has reduced massively as his pincer grip has improved and he’s enjoying a much wider range of foods now he’s able to pick them up – including these baby hash brown potato cakes!
