Sweet potato for baby led weaning

Sweet potato is one of my favourite ingredients to use for baby led weaning. Versatile, filling and packed full of healthy nutrients – sweet potatoes are a fantastic alternative to starchy potatoes and can be used in a huge range of recipes.

From pancakes, to sweet potato fries to healthy veggie burgers, we try to incorporate sweet potato into baby’s diet at least once a week.

@Bobbie, I freeze mine. I freeze in 2’s or 3’s. Let defrost then heat in the oven. Hope this helps x

Trying these for my 14 month old tonight. I’m freezing the rest (uncooked). Wrapped them in wax paper individually then put in a freezer-safe plastic bag then in a container. So, hopefully they still cook well once thawed.

I love all your BLW fritters, I’ve made quite a few ! They are so easy to whip up and alter to whatever you have in the fridge. I also love how well the freeze! They make the perfect on the go snack. The biggest change up I did was to subsitute 2/3rds of the flour for iron fortified baby cereal to add in some extra iron. They held up really well! Big hit with the little one

    • Thanks for your comment Kylie. I am so glad you liked them!

I am about to add a new recipe for tuna and sweetcorn fritters so please keep an eye out for these 🙂
